Smart gadgets seem destined to take over our homes. Kettles is no exception. Designing kettle today is like designing a smart phone - same amount of complexity and attention to the details is needed. Yet kettle is not a smartphone and needs to withstand high temperatures, be durable and not expensive to manufacture (who wants to spend £700 on a kettle?).
Keeping in mind all those factors, the design for the Klaass kettle was created at the studio.
AESTHETICS
Klaass's visual aesthetics inspired by remarkable work of Dieter Rams. Clean, simplistic, minimalist, yet easy to operate and fully functional. Klaass modular body build gives a lot of freedom when applying different materials and colours.
And just with a single shape you can have a variety of choices, so every one can pick just a right kettle, that will fit in perfectly in-to their environment.
MAKE IT INTELLIGENT
You can select from four temperature settings, keep warm mode and many more in app features such as home mode and wake up mode directly form dock station. Or you can easily integrate Klaass kettle into your smart home hub and remotely control it from anywhere in the house using the Klaass smart app. With the industrial design of the kettle, ZDS also design smartphone app.
The KLAASS Smart Kettle is a jug kettle that sits on a dock station, which is home to some hi-tech controls. These let you not just boil water but also heat it to any temperature from 80 to 100 C in 50 C increments, which makes it better for making various types of tea. This is especially important knowing that coffee and tea release lots of bitter compounds if they’re put into water that’s too hot.
So it seems obvious to make a kettle that gives you the right temperature for the right ingredients.
